Leonard

Leonard is a 36 year-old entrepreneur from the Southern District of Rwanda. He lives with his wife and their school-age child. He runs a thriving wholesale shop, specialising in buying and selling various grains, supported by his brother in managing the business.

Leonard established his wholesale shop few years ago, using his extensive knowledge of household staples to build a stable source of income while also creating local employment opportunities. His shop supplies essential grains such as maize, beans, soybeans, and sorghum, catering to the growing demand in his community.

Eager to expand his business and increase his stock, Leonard has applied for a loan to purchase in bulk 20 sacks of beans, 15 sacks of maize, 10 sacks of sorghum, and additional soybeans. He will personally cover other expenses, including transportation, taxes, and labour costs for loading and unloading the goods. This expansion will not only strengthen his business but also generate employment for six people, along with an additional permanent worker, contributing to the local economy.
