Adelina is a widow with two married children who live separately but provide her with financial support. She lives in a remote village in the town of Cebu, where she operates a grocery store as her source of income to support her daily living expenses.
In 1995, Adelina successfully opened a grocery store displaying various products such as rice, animal feeds, canned goods, energy drinks, seasonings, laundry products, soft drinks, and many more. Her store is located in front of their house, making it easier for her to manage when her children were young. Even now that all of them are already married and living separately, she continues to manage her store from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily.
She purchases stocks from the mall, while others are sourced from the market every other day. Adelina admits that there are times when sales are low, but there are also periods of higher sales, and she continues to operate her business with hard work and strong dedication. Adelina also said that she recently needed additional working capital for her store to purchase more stocks for display. For this reason, she has applied for another loan from Lendwithcare's partner, LAMAC, to support the growth of her business. The said loan will be repayable in 24 monthly instalments.
