Tisebeze 0605 Group

Tisebeze 0605 is a group based in the Southern Province of Zambia. The name Tisebeze comes from a local word meaning “let’s work”. True to their name, the members have come together to achieve financial stability and build a brighter future for the children in their care. They run a range of small businesses, including grocery stalls, fresh and dried fish, and second-hand clothing. The group members have an average age of 41.

In the vibrant heart of the local market, the sound of snapping fabric and the calls of vendors create a busy atmosphere. At the centre of this energy stands Beauster, a 43-year-old business owner. Her stall is more than just a place of work; it is a reflection of her resilience and determination.

Life has presented Beauster with significant challenges. As a widow, she became the sole provider for her family, caring for her four children as well as two orphans she welcomed into her home. Faced with supporting six young lives, Beauster turned to the trade she knew best: selling second-hand clothing.

With her share of the loan, Beauster plans to purchase additional stock to expand her business. This will enable her to attract more customers, increase her sales and strengthen her income. Other members of the group will also use their loan shares to invest in stock for their own businesses.

Through their shared efforts and mutual support, the Tisebeze 0605 Group continues to work towards greater financial security and improved livelihoods for their families.

The Microloan Foundation, Lendwithcare's local partner in Zambia employs a unique 'centre' model for lending to female entrepreneurs. A centre comprises several sub-groups which share the same name as the centre. As such, you may have seen similarly named group loans from Zambia all belonging to the same centre. In this system, each woman is individually responsible for repaying her loan, but the group offers mutual support by assuming overall responsibility together.
