Faithful 0205 Group

Faithful 0205 is a group of women who live up to their name. They believe that commitment to their businesses helps them earn a reliable income to support their households, which include 31 dependents — among them two orphaned children from deceased relatives.

The group members, aged between 26 and 54, run a variety of small enterprises such as grocery shops, bedding sales and second‑hand clothing businesses. Their hard work and devotion continue to sustain their families and strengthen their livelihoods.

For ten years, Chiluba has been running a clothing business where she sells ladies clothing and bedsheets to members of the community. Her business has slowly grown because of her hard work and discipline. However Chiluba believes her business has great potential to do more hence she has applied for a share of the group loan so that she can order more stock to sell in larger quantities. From her business, Chiluba is able to pay school fees for her four children with the help of her husband who is sells hardware items. She is truly a happy woman and is even more motivated now to work harder in her business.

The rest of the members plan to buy more groceries, clothes and vegetables for their market store entreprises.

The Microloan Foundation, Lendwithcare's local partner in Zambia employs a unique 'centre' model for lending to female entrepreneurs. A centre comprises several sub-groups which share the same name as the centre. As such, you may have seen similarly named group loans from Zambia all belonging to the same centre. In this system, each woman is individually responsible for repaying her loan, but the group offers mutual support by assuming overall responsibility together.
