Thaweekit

Thaweekit is a 32-year-old married man who lives in a small rural community in Surin province, Thailand. He currently lives with his wife, an older brother, and two children aged 6 and 2. To earn a living, his wife works as a municipal official, while his brother is involved in agricultural activities. Thaweekit himself runs a small pig farm and also provides labour services in the community.

Thaweekit started his pig farming business in 2022 out of a passion for animal husbandry and a desire to generate additional income for his family. Being a self-taught farmer, he learned the basics of pig farming by observing experienced local farmers in his area and researching techniques through the internet. He currently focuses on raising and fattening pigs, typically purchasing piglets and raising them over a period of 3 to 4 months until they reach market weight. Once ready, he sells the pigs to local butcher shops in the area. Over time, Thaweekit has gained practical experience and built a reliable network of buyers, allowing him to maintain a steady cycle of production and sales.

At present, Thaweekit raises only a small number of pigs per cycle due to limited funds. As his experience has grown over the past few years, so has his ambition. He now would like to expand his farm by taking on a larger batch and increasing his earnings, but this requires additional working capital. Therefore, Thaweekit has applied for a loan to purchase several piglets, pig feed, vaccines, vitamins, minerals, and other farming inputs. In the future, Thaweekit hopes to further grow his pig farm by building additional pigsties and increasing his herd size, with the goal of becoming a more established pig farmer in his community.
