Philippines
Januarius (58) is single. He worked as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) for 22 years and was able to save money while working abroad, which he invested in a business in the Philippines. He has now returned to the Philippines for good to manage his business. He started his "sari-sari" convenience store in 2018.
Januarius worked hard overseas to save money. While working abroad, he gradually built rental rooms for additional income. In 2017, he decided to return to the Philippines permanently, where he also set up a sari-sari store and chose not to work abroad again so he could focus fully on managing his businesses. He sells soft drinks, beer, noodles, canned goods, and biscuits in his store. He also owns a room-for-rent business with 16 rooms, all of which are currently occupied.
At present, he decided to apply for a loan funded through Lendwithcare as his savings were used to complete the construction of the rental rooms, leaving him with insufficient capital to restock his store. The loan will be used to purchase additional stocks to fully replenish the shop and make it more attractive to customers. In addition, he operates a water vending machine, which is opened every month, and the income from this helps him pay his electricity expenses.
