CAF Oletchana is a women’s group of 11 members based a few kilometres from Lomé. Together, they support 22 dependent children, 15 of whom are currently in school. The average age of the members is 45.
To earn a living, the members of the group work in baking, dressmaking, and the sale of second-hand clothing and food.
One of the members, Dodovi Adjovi, is a 33-year-old single mother with school-aged children. For the past seven years, she has worked from home as a seamstress and reseller of second-hand children’s clothing. With her share of the loan, she plans to purchase a stone machine to strengthen her business, increase her income and attract more customers. This investment will allow her to better meet customer demand, reinvest profits into her activity and work towards her long-term goal of opening a shop selling traditional fabrics.
The group members believe this loan will help them expand their commercial activities through the collective purchase of goods and equipment. Overall, the financing will enable them to increase their incomes, strengthen their businesses and improve their living conditions.
