CAF Madziha is a women’s group of four members located a few kilometres from Lomé. Together, the group supports ten dependents, including six school-aged children, with an average age of 25. The members primarily trade in food products, kitchen utensils, and soap.
Amegan Yawa (25) is a member of the group who sells kitchen utensils and has been running her business from home for over five years. Single and without children, she is solely responsible for her household expenses. Before obtaining a loan, limited resources prevented her from buying enough stock to meet customer demand.
With her share of the loan, Amegan plans to purchase additional pots, pans, plates, and other kitchen utensils to increase her sales. Profits will be used to build savings with the goal of eventually opening her own shop.
Thanks to this financing, the group will be able to stabilise its commercial activities and sustainably increase its income. The loan will be invested in food products, kitchen utensils, and soaps for resale, enabling members to expand their stocks, better satisfy customers, and improve profit margins.
