Cambodia
Tit (27) lives in Bovel District, Battambang Province, where he has been farming for several years.
To earn a living, Tit grows wet-season rice on 1.5 hectares of paddy land, producing around 2.5 tonnes each year, which he sells to a local middleman from his village. Rice farming is the main source of income for his family.
Each year, Tit rents a neighbour’s tractor to plough his fields, which adds to his farming costs. To improve efficiency and reduce expenses, he applied for a 36-month loan to purchase a walking tractor. Owning his own tractor will allow him to plough on time, lower costs, and strengthen his farming business.
Please note that loan repayments will be made on an annual basis.
