Leonida's main source of income has been her retail and wholesale business, selling a variety of vegetables and spices. She worked even harder to grow her business after her husband passed away, as she needed to support their five children. All of her children are now married, and she currently lives with her two grandchildren, who reside with her in the household.

Leonida purchases her stock in bulk from traders who visit the market twice a week. She sells these items both at retail and wholesale, according to her customers’ specific requirements. She employs two helpers who assist in fulfilling orders and arranging products. While her daily sales are not always high, there are days when she earns between £90 and £100. Her income supports both her personal needs and the schooling of her grandchildren.

Leonida has sustained her business operations with the help of several loans from Lendwithcare. She has received four loans in total, the most recent being in July of last year, which she fully repaid in November without difficulty. She has now applied for another loan to increase her working capital, as vegetable prices have risen due to some farmers being affected by recent typhoon. She intends to restock more vegetables and spices for sale at her stall and plans to repay the loan over a short period, in three monthly instalments.
