Shadi Jarmi, aged 36, is married and a devoted father of three children, as well as supporting two additional dependents. For the past 15 years, Shadi has been managing a seasonal vegetable and grape farming business on his own land.
With the help of his family, three full-time workers, and occasionally two part-time labourers during busy seasons, he cultivates around 15 acres of farmland. The farm currently generates an average monthly income of approximately £2,100, which serves as the family’s main source of livelihood.
Shadi has applied for a loan to invest in his farm by purchasing:
• A new irrigation network, and
• A water pump to ensure efficient watering across all cultivated areas.
This investment will help Shadi improve water efficiency, boost crop quality, and increase yields. In the future, he hopes to expand his operations by cultivating a wider range of seasonal vegetables throughout the year and building greenhouses on part of his land, which will also create new employment opportunities in his community.
The loan will be repaid over 24 monthly instalments.
