Rosa Josefina, aged 42, is an enterprising woman from Imbabura Province in northern Ecuador. She is a single mother with a six-year-old son in primary school. Her eldest daughter already works and helps with the household expenses, which allows Rosa to concentrate on her business and caring for her family.
For the past 11 years, Rosa has been running a small bazaar where she sells stationery, toys, clothing and household items. She also offers clothing repair services and has recently started making T-shirts. Through hard work, she has managed to purchase sewing machines, enabling her to diversify and strengthen her business.
Rosa has requested a loan to continue growing her enterprise. She plans to invest £372 in buying fabric to produce more T-shirts, while the remainder will go towards improving and upgrading her shop to attract more customers and increase her income.
