The CAF Precious Group consists of 11 women who support 17 dependants, including 13 schoolchildren. Based a few kilometres from Lomé, they sell food products, yam tubers, soaps, loincloths, and shoes.
Amouzou Teko, 45, has been selling food products and yam tubers for 12 years. She is married to a trader, and together they support their school-age children and share household expenses. Previously, her limited capital prevented her from maintaining sufficient stock, leading to shortages. With her share of the loan, Teko intends to buy more high-quality yams to increase her stock, satisfy her customers, and grow her income.
The members of the CAF Precious Group will use the loan to expand their businesses by securing adequate supplies of goods such as soaps, loincloths, shoes, and food products for resale.
