The CAF Félicité Group is made up of nine members who between them have 27 dependents, including 17 schoolchildren. They have an average age of 34 and are located a few kilometres from Lomé. They sell ready-to-wear clothes, loincloths, beauty products, fish and tubers.
Alidou Faizatou has run a ready-to-wear boutique for eight years. Aged 32, she is married to a driver with whom she has school-aged children, and they share the household expenses. With her share of the loan, she plans to buy more new clothes to resell and increase her profits. These will be reinvested in her business, and in the future she plans to add shoe sales to her business.
The other members of this group will use the loan to buy stock and expand their businesses.
