Palestinian Territories
Please note: due to the insecurity in the West Bank there are significant risks of delayed repayments or default on this loan. We have written a blog giving full detail of how we are working with our partner to support people's livelihoods. You can find the blog in the About Us section of the Lendwithcare website. Suliman is 30 years old and happily married. He lives with his family in a village in the West Bank, where they own their home. He has two young children and supports a household of four.
Suliman is a farmer and has been cultivating grapes for the past five years. He owns three acres of land, all of which are covered with shade netting. To begin a new grape cycle, he applied for a loan to install an irrigation network for two dunums costing $2,140, renew the shade netting for two acres costing $2,560, and purchase iron corner supports for $2,300.
Suliman currently works alone on the farm but hopes to expand in the future. His current net income is around $1,000 per month, and he expects this to increase with the next harvest. The loan will be repayable over 24 months.
Despite the hardships and restrictions faced by Palestinian farmers, especially after the events of October 7th which have severely limited access to work, farming remains Suliman’s only means of livelihood and survival. This loan will allow him to continue supporting his family and secure a better future.
