Robencio

Robencio is 70, married and all his children now have their own families. Robencio and his family live in Negros Occidental.

Robencio has been managing his piggery business for over 30 years. Earlier this year, he faced the heartbreaking loss of his wife, yet he continues to persevere, driven by his deep love for his family and his commitment to the livelihood he has built over the decades. With both of his children now raising families of their own, Robencio not only sustains himself through his piggery business but also helps support his grandchildren’s education, hoping to give them the opportunities they deserve.

Currently, he raises 17 heads of swine, with each harvest yielding an estimated income of £32 to £38 per head. Operating his farm with the help of three male workers, who are also his neighbours, Robencio provides employment in his local community, contributing to the stability of those around him. His piggery serves as both a source of livelihood and a symbol of perseverance, especially during this challenging time in his life.

As a member of our local development partner, FCCT Cooperative, Robencio has applied for a loan to purchase feed and other essential supplies for his swine. Robencio dreams of seeing his pigs grow healthy, strong, and profitable, turning hard work into real financial rewards.
