Neresa is 50 years old and lives in Cebu with her live-in partner, Henry. Together, they run a small eatery. They have four children, all of whom are in school—ranging from primary to college level.
Neresa previously ran a small grocery shop in front of their home, but she was forced to close it due to operational challenges and unpaid customer credit. Recently, she found an opportunity to open a food stall in the town’s public market, which she launched in June using £500 in start-up capital, funded through a loan from Lendwithcare partner, LAMAC.
Her eatery serves a variety of silog meals—such as tuna, ham, chicken, beef, and pork—as well as cold drinks, instant noodles, pancit canton, and other made-to-order dishes. With the help of one assistant, Neresa has recorded daily sales of up to £50 since opening. She’s optimistic that revenue will increase, particularly with the town fiesta fast approaching.
Neresa is deeply grateful for the support she has received. The eatery provides a much-needed additional income stream alongside Henry’s work as a farmer. The loan is repayable over six months, and she’s committed to growing the business further. She decided to apply for a loan to boost her working capital and support the eatery’s continued expansion.
