Angelie

Angelie, 26, is married to Teodoro. They are blessed with two sons – one is in Grade 2 and the other is in high school. Their family resides in the province of Cebu. Before running her own small eatery, Angelie worked in a salon as a nail art designer. Her husband, Teodoro, works as a welder in a private company, a job he continues to hold to this day.

Angelie started her business at home in 2022 with a capital of £259. Over time, it grew, and she was able to expand by opening a second store along the highway, where she sells fried chicken, snacks such as French fries, and juices. She now employs one worker who manages this second store. Angelie earns around £38 in daily sales and purchases stock every other day.

To ensure compliance, Angelie secured a barangay (village) permit, giving her peace of mind during inspections. She is now working on opening her third store near a school, where she plans to offer a variety of cooked meals. To support this expansion, she applied for a loan from Lendwithcare to fund the capital for her third store. Part of the loan will also be used to purchase bulk stocks of soft drinks and beer for her first stores, as these are among her best-selling items. She has committed to repaying the loan within six months. Angelie works hard to support her husband in meeting their family’s daily needs. She remains hopeful and positive about the continued growth and success of her stores.
