Roth lives in Bovel district of Battambang Province and has been a farmer for the last ten years. He farms wet season rice, which is a source of income for his family.
Roth is 30 years old, and has been a farmer for ten years. He farms wet season rice on eight hectares of land, harvesting 2.5 tonnes of rice per hectare for sale to his local middleman. Aside from rice farming, he also has another five-hectare plot of farming land on which he grows cassava, collecting around 10 tonnes of cassava root 10 tonnes per hectare.
As he is currently only able to grow one crop of rice each year, Roth has requested a 36-month loan to allow him to drill a well, which will be installed with a solar panel system. This will allow him to increase his water supply and farm rice twice a year, thereby considerably increasing his income.
Please note that loan repayments will be made on a yearly basis.
