Jenelyn is 35 years old and has a live-in partner who has six children. Her youngest child is still a toddler; the other five are studying in different school levels. Jenelyn and her family live in Tabuelan.
Jenelyn has been engaged in pig farming with the help of her husband since her partner is unemployed, but he is available to be contacted at any moment if there are any house repairs or potential jobs and paid £27 per week until the house is fully equipped. Jenelyn's husband is also the one who helps her with their backyard animals. Jenelyn also begins making Takakura compost from their pig dung and other biodegradable materials, which is very useful in their community for solid waste management and can also help her community stay odour-free. After making the compost, Jenelyn plans to sell it to farmers for £6 per sack of fertiliser so that farmers can produce organic vegetables, crops, and fruits.
As a member of our local development partner, FCCT Cooperative, Jenelyn has requested a loan to purchase essential materials such as feeds and vitamins.
Jenelyn hopes that she will be able to support her family through this business and hopes that this business grows so that she will be able to renovate their modest house and have a safe place to live, as well as earn extra money for their children's school fees.
