Rwanda
Epiani, 38, lives with his family in northern Rwanda. He and his wife have three children who are currently in school. Together, they cultivate a small plot of land, growing maize, potatoes, and bananas.
Several years ago, Epiani and his wife decided to focus on banana farming and haven’t looked back since. The fertile soil in their area is ideal for growing bananas, which are considered a cash crop in Rwanda due to their popularity across the country.
Through their plantation, the couple have created employment for four local workers. They are dedicated to their business and use their profits to provide a good life for their children, covering health insurance and school fees.
To expand their business, Epiani has applied for a loan to purchase an additional plot of land for banana farming. They also plan to hire two more workers to prepare the land and plant banana trees. The couple are confident that this investment will lead to increased profits and a better future for their children.
