Floresa, 35, is a mother of four: three daughters and one son. Three of her children are in high school, while the youngest is in elementary school. She and her husband work together to manage their two fried chicken stalls, striving to provide for their family and secure a better future. They reside in a remote town in Cebu province.
Floresa and her husband manage two stalls that sell hanging rice, fried chicken, and cold beverages. Each stall operates independently: one is located inside the public market, while the other is situated in front of the college in their town. Customers have the option to dine in or take away. Both stalls operate daily from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., serving a diverse clientele that includes college students, teachers, market vendors, and visitors. To meet customer demand, they also offer a variety of cold drinks.
The couple’s combined daily sales average £85. They source fresh chicken daily from a nearby meat dealer at wholesale prices, while other ingredients, such as corn flour and seasonings, are purchased from the local market. Floresa and her husband work tirelessly to cover their family’s living expenses and provide for their children’s education.
As a member of LAMAC (Lendwithcare's development partner in the Philippines) since 2019, Floresa has successfully accessed and repaid multiple loans. These loans have enabled her to purchase additional stock, including chicken, seasonings, rice for hanging rice, and beverages like soft drinks and mineral water. Now, she has applied for her fifth loan to further expand her business.
Floresa and her husband are confident that with the new loan, they can boost their income and continue improving their family’s quality of life. The loan will be repaid over 12 months.
