Jeanefer

Jeanefer is a 37 year old married woman with two children, both of whom attend school. Her husband is a salaried worker, and the family lives in Cebu province. To help her husband cover their needs, she runs a business selling beauty products and also offers services like hair and facial treatments. She works hard to manage her business well to provide a better way of living for her family.

In 2017, Jeanefer started her business. She has renewed all her permits and licenses to keep her business operating up to date. She has been renting her shop for three years now for 5,000 pesos (£66.04) a month. The shop is situated near the public market and village hall, making it easy and accessible for her customers to drop by. From the seminars and classes she attended, she learned to offer services for hair and facial treatments, providing her the opportunity to generate income. Some of the services she offers include eyelash extensions, lip tattoos, micro-shading, warts removal, and many others.

To earn extra income, Jeanefer also sells beauty products, ready-to-wear clothing, slippers, bags, hair accessories, household cleaning materials, school supplies, and many other items. Besides walk-in customers, she also has resellers of her items. She sources her items to sell from online shops and wholesalers in Cebu City.

Recently, she has applied for another loan from our local development partner, Lamac, which she promised to repay within six months. She will use the additional funds to restock her shop with more items, such as new clothing and bag trends, beauty products, hygienic products, household cleaning items, and much more. She will also buy hair colours, face and hair treatments, nail polish, body wash, and other supplies needed for her continued services. Her dedication to learning more has allowed her to extend her services and ensure she provides quality treatments, encouraging customers to continue patronizing her business.
