Philippines
Martinito is a married man with two children. His eldest child is already employed, while his youngest is currently pursuing a college education. The family owns a passenger van used for both transportation and logistics purposes. Martinito's wife oversees their small eatery business. They reside in the Province of Negros Occidental, where Martinito has worked as a passenger van driver for over seven years.
Martinito has been a member of our local development partner FCCT in the Philippines for more than one year. He has received and promptly repaid several short-term loans already. He operates his passenger van for transporting goods or people traveling almost 95 kilometres every day. He also accepts bookings for all tourists to visit any beautiful spots and destinations in the Visayas. His van has a seating capacity of 18 and he can earn a minimum of 5,000 pesos (£70) a day. He operates his passenger van from Monday to Friday and he will help his wife manage their small eatery on Saturday and Sunday.
Now, Martino has requested a loan to buy new tires, spare parts for his vehicle, and renew his franchise. Part of his loan will also be used for their eatery business and the college studies expenses of his youngest child. With the help and support from FCCT, he is hoping that he will fulfil his plans to support his family needs and become a successful businessman for their eatery business.
