Jean Pierre

Jean Pierre is 34 years old and lives with his wife and their three children in a rural part of Rwanda. He is proud that two of his children are going to school, and both he and his wife work hard to provide for them. Jean Pierre runs a grocery shop, and his wife works as a farmer growing traditional potatoes but she sometimes help him in the shop.

Jean Pierre opened his grocery shop in the market around twelve years ago. At present, he sells basic food items such as biscuits, pasta and cooking oil, pans, maize flour, sugar, rice, beans, and other household items. He also sells clothing and cosmetic items such as hair styling products.

Like many shop owners, Jean Pierre lack enough working capital to invest in new stock. He has therefore requested a loan which he will use to purchase a wide variety of products. He will purchase his best-selling products as well as exploring new product offerings in the shop too. He feels his business is well established and thriving and he will be able to repay the loan in full and on time. The increase in his income will help him to provide a better life for his family and create job for one person to assist him.
