Adjo is a 42 years old woman, mother of 5 children. Her eldest child is 24 and the youngest is 11 years. They are all enrolled to school. Adjo's family lives in Atakpame. She has a shop where she sells various types of shoes for men and women. The shoes are imported from Nigeria. Adjo travels to Lome to get her stock. She displays her articles in a small shop located near the local bank of Atakpame. Prior to this activity, Adjo was a porridge seller. Adjo became member of the microfinance institution WAGES last year and she is applying for a loan to expand her activity. She will use the loan to buy 102 dozen of men’s shoes and 198 dozen of shoes for women. Adjo's life is very challenging but the most important thing for her is to guarantee a better standard of living for her family.
