Samina Rafiq lives in Badami Bagh in her own house. She is 21 and lives in an household with seven family members, namely her parents, two brothers and three sisters. There are three persons working in her household, Samina, her brother and father. Her father is a labourer and earns 500 rupees per day. His work is not permanent and sometimes he has to sit at home because no work is available. Her brother works for a private firm and earns around 8,000 rupees per month. Overall her family struggles to make ends meet. Samina decided to help out and sews and sells clothes. She earns around 6,000 rupees per month and has also in fact trained her younger sister in tailoring. She requested a loan of 18,000 rupees because she wants to buy a new sewing machine so that she can work more efficiently and also so her sister can help out. With any funds left over she wants to buy yarn, laces, and buttons. She hopes that with any extra income she generates she can pay for her siblings' educational expenses.
