Ahlam is married with four children. She lives with her family in the town of Jenin which is in the north of the West Bank.
Ahlam runs a beauty salon. She established the business quite recently having previously worked for someone else. She has around 10 years of professional experience. Ahlam offers hairdressing and hair clouring, make-up and skin care. She requested a loan to buy equipment and supplies for her new business. Specifically, she wants to buy a new chair for $1,000; hair straighteners, dryers and for making hair wavy for another $2,000; cosmetics, colouring, nail polishers and nail equipment, masks, and make-up tools for another $5,000; and the remaining is to pay the annual rent. She expects the next few months to be very busy because it is wedding season. This is a long term loan repayable over 48 months. Once the business is properly running Ahlam hopes to take on an assistant.
