Virginita

Virginita is 61 years old and she lives in Cebu province. She is married to Juanito who is 69 years old. They have one married son living separately with his family. Virginita has been running a progressive general store for many years. She sells a wide range of food and general household items. Her income has helped and is still helping her to deal with their living and other expenses.

Virginita's store is operating in front of their house. Her customers are mainly people in the village. She sells food items such as rice, canned goods, noodles, eggs, food seasonings, chips, goodies, and a lot more items. Her top-selling items are rice, groceries, animal feeds, sodas, and beers. Virginita and her husband both manages their shop on a daily basia and their daily sales are between 3,000 to 5,000 pesos (£44.51 to £74.18)

Recently, Virginita requested her first loan to the MFI-Lamac in order to have more funds to buy more stocks for her store. She buys her stocks from the town proper and she personally drives their own tricycle during her purchase. She hopes to sustain what she is earning in their store because this is the only source of income to deal with their living expenses and buy their daily medicines to take for their health.
