Hoeurb soy is 53 years old and married with three children. The eldest son is 23 years old, the second daughter is 22 years old and the third is 19 years old. They have all completed high school and now are all in employment. They live in Kor Rohal village, Pam Ek commune, Ek Phnom district, Battambang province. Hoeurb has been a member of the Ek Phnom Credit Union since 2003. Hoeurb and her husband have worked as farmers for the past 20 years or so. They own two hectares of rice paddy and they rent another one hectare located adjacent to their own land. The yield approximately is 2 tonnes per hectare. To earn a little extra income Hoeurb sells porridge each day in the morning from immediately in front of her house and she also grows vegetables on a small piece of land behind her house and sells any surplus. She has sought a loan in order to buy wood to rebuild her house. She intends to repay the loan over 12 months.
