Mr. Edwin is 56 years old and married. His wife is Josie and they have four children. Three of his children are married now. Living with the couple are one of the two married sons, daughter-in-law, one grandchild, and Edwin’s youngest son who attends grade 8. Edwin was working as a carpenter until 2015. Since then, he decided to engage in hog raising.
Edwin raises and sells pigs. He buys the piglets, fatten them for over several months before selling them to meat stall owners in the public market. He started his hog business in 2015. At present, he has five pigsties housing eight pigs and two pregnant sows. He can save money generating more profit because for the time being he won’t need to buy piglets from other hog raisers. The eight grown pigs are ready to be sold on the first week of April. His hog farming business generates a good income for him around 3,500 (£50.35) per hog. Edwin recently applied for a loan to use as working capital for buying animal feeds for his pigs. He has been a member of the MFI-Lamac for over two years now and has repaid one loan. With the help of the loan he seek, he will continue improving his hog farming business to generate higher profit.
