Evelyn is a 43 year old married with four children. Three of her children still lives with her and they all attend school in different level. Her husband is Alexander and he is a policeman. The family all lives in Cebu province. To help her husband in dealing with their finances, Evelyn decided to open a restaurant business and named it 'Cafe Meal Ya'.
The name of her cafe is quite interesting. In our local knowledge, 'Cafe Meal Ya' means family members eating together. Evelyn's cafe has been operating for two years now. She is paying monthly rent of the space use in her business. She hired one cook and two helpers and each one of them receive different pay depending on their job description. Her cafe is open from 6 in the morning and closes at 8 in the evening. She is earning daily sales of 5,000 pesos (£71.43).
To finance her business, Evelyn sought for her second loan to the MFI-Lamac. She will use the loan to have additional funds to purchase fresh ingredients needed in her every day cooking. Part of the loan was also be used to made some improvements to beautify her cafe in order to attract more customers to dine in. Evelyn and her workers will continue to provide good customer service and ensure their dishes to serve are safe to eat. She will repay her loan in 12 months installment.
