Madeleine Trangia lives with her partner called Jonhilou. They have three children and they all live in the village of Odlot, Bogo city in Cebu province. Two of her children attends school. The couple both manage a food business that has been operating for about three months now.
The couple rented a space where they operate a restaurant business. Their shop is found near a mall and commercial buildings. They are now earning daily income that helped them deal with their daily needs. They are renting the space for 10,000 pesos (£148) a month. Jonhilou is the one who cooks their daily dishes to sell while Madeleine helps in preparing the ingredients. She employ two female workers who help in attending to customers orders, washing dishes and cleaning the dining area. Their shop is open daily from 5 in the morning and closes at 8 in the evening. The couple are earning 7,000 pesos (£104) daily and earn more sales during weekends.
To access more working capital, Madeleine applied for her first loan to the MFI-Lamac. She will use the loan mainly to buy fresh ingredients needed to cook their daily dishes. Usually they served ten or more dishes everyday.
Madeleine hopes and pray for their business to grow even more for them to continuously earn income to deal with their living expenses. She promise to repay the loan over the period of six months.
