Jane Shackford is a married woman with three children. Her eldest child attends module class while the other two children are still toddlers. Her husband is John and he is a retired aircraft mechanic. The family lives peacefully in the village of Awihao which is in the town of Toledo in Cebu province.
To help in dealing with their finances, Jane decided to get engaged in buy & sell business. For the past four years she sells various products such as ready to wear clothes, cosmetics, slippers, sandals, terno pajamas and other items. Jane buys her stocks and keeps it in hand because her customers prefer to see the products first before they decide to buy the items. Her stocks was sold out when we visited. Her new stocks were arriving on Friday. Most of her stocks are purchase in credit and she is paid within one month's time. Aside from this, Jane also raises piglets at home. Her last batch was sold two months ago. She had built one pigsty but not completed yet. She now has one gilt to feed and plan to propagate.
Jane became a member of the MFI-Lamac more than two years ago and she has repaid eight previous loans. Last month, she applied for another loan in order to have additional funds for her buy & sell business. She also have bought a freezer and various frozen foods and sell it to her regular customers. This will help her to earn more income to deal with their expenses. She also have bought feeds to feed her gilt.
Jane will continue to find ways to earn more income for her to provide a better way of living for her children. She promise to repay the loan over the period of twelve months.
