Omayra is 41 years old businesswoman, managing her haberdashery shop for 20 years. She has a 22-year-old son who just finished his Architecture degree at university. Omayra has currently reconciled with her husband, who works as a schoolteacher in a village in the town. Omayra and her family live in a rented house, located in the district of Huamachuco, province of Sánchez Carrión, department of La Libertad, in the northern highlands of Peru.
Omayra Chavez Sandoval has been committed to her haberdashery shop selling underwear and various products for more than 20 years. She started her entrepreneurship with the support of her mother, who provided her with a small capital. The beginnings of her were as a traveling merchant, the space that she occupied within the market, she lost it due to the security protocols established by the municipality of the town, due to the pandemic. Omayra had the support from her mother again, she provided a space inside her store so that Omayra can sell her products.
Her business hours are from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. The products she sells are flashlights, locks, batteries, wallets, underwear, belts among other haberdashery products. Omayra comments that her sales are made in cash and she sells an average of S/8,000.00 soles (£1605.49), generating a monthly profit of 40% of the amount of her sales. Omayra is characterized by her kind and helpful treatment with her customers, she is known in her area for the variety of her products and at a low price, that is why she has regularity in her sales.
Omayra invested the previous four loans received from Lendwithcare to buy products for managing her shop and the loan investment benefited her sales. She requested her fifth loan to use as working capital for buying wallets and belts, products that according to her are in high demand for this season. Omayra is very grateful for the loans provided, especially in these difficult times that she is going through due to the pandemic, she is a very hard-working woman, who strives daily for the benefit of her family, in addition she is very concerned about well-being of her parents' health.
