Antonio Trazona is a 59 year old farmer who lives in the village in Sudlon II in Cebu province. He has been married to Peregrina for many years and they have eight children. Two of their children still lives with them and they attend grade 9 and 11. To support their household expenses, the couple has been engaged in growing and selling of vegetables and spices since 1979. Through their farming business they were able to provide food and schooling of their children.
Shown in the photo is his second area found few meters away from his house. He grows radish on 8 plots and chinese cabbage on 8 plots. Each plot has a length of 40 meters. He expect to harvest both the crops by 10th of April. At the back of his house he has 40 plots where he will transplant about 8,000 seedlings of tomatoes this coming 18th of March. He will hire two temporary labourers to help him in transplanting the seedlings. His wife Peregrina is his helping hand with everything in the farm. His latest harvest was cabbages and sad to say the selling price was very low that he incurred deficit.
Antonio is in need of funds to finance the new cropping so he applied for his third loan to the MFI-Lamac wherein he has been a member since 2018. He was first funded by Lendwithcare last June 2018 and repaid that loan successfully. Antonio will use the loan to buy 4 types of fertilisers, 20 kilos of plant vitamins and four types of crop protection products. He will also buy 4 rolls of water hose for his two farm land.
Antonio will continue to farm for major part of their expenses comes from the earnings of his harvest. He is thankful for with the help of the loan he could ensure quality harvest of his crops and continue praying that the selling price will be higher in the future harvest. He promise to repay the loan over the period of twelve months and in lump sum repayment. Please see the repayment schedule below for more details.
