Analipa Gilbuela is married with two children ages 13 and 15 years old. Both of them are attending local school. She is 33 years old and her husband Julius is a 38 year old fisherman. They all live in the village of Maalat which is in the town of Madridejos in Cebu province. Since 2004, Julius has been engaged in fishing activity and he specifically uses the method of bobo fish trap. He continues to use this method since he is experienced and there is not a day that he come back without a catch.

The bobo device is made of bamboo and diamond screen net. It has a trap-like entrance, which has a secured edge to prevent fish from getting out once snared. Each bobo has a length of 8 inches and 18 inches in width. Julius puts fish baits inside the bobo to attract fishes to come inside. He then attached 18 sets of these bobo traps (horizontally) in one fish buoy and also one bobo trap for squid. A bobo trap for squid is bigger compared to bobo fish trap. He currently have a total of 20 fish buoy. So everyday, using his owned boat Julius and one helper will go to the sea to check all of these bobo traps. Usually he catches between 20 to 60 kilos a day and earn depending on the type of fish caught. They both find fishing business a good source of income to deal with their needs. They always pray for good weather for them to continue fishing. His wife Analipa helps Julius by selling his daily catch in the market. The couple wants to have more bobo traps to replace their existing damage traps and build more bobo to increase their catch.

Analipa decided to became a member of the MFI-Lamac for her to access funds to buy materials for these bobo traps and repair their boat. She will buy 35 pieces of bamboo poles, 1 roll of rope, 3 rolls of diamond screen nets and construction materials to repair her boat like nails, plywood, lumber epoxy and paints. Her boat was made 13 years ago and done two repairs already. She and Julius plan to build five more fish buoy to increase their everyday catch. The couple have to save more money for them to prepare for their two children who are about to enter college in few years from now. She promise to repay the loan over the period of 12 months and in lump sum repayment. Please see the repayment schedule below for more details.
