Motaz Amer is married with a young son. He lives with his family near the town of Nablus in the West Bank.
Motaz runs a shop selling traditional sweets and desserts including Knafa and Kullaj. He established his own business around two years ago, previously he worked in the same line of work for someone else. Altogether he has around ten years experience in this field. Motaz requested a loan from Lendwithcare's partner organisation, Reef, to buy a special, large refrigerator for keeping sweets for $4,500. He also wants to buy new tables, chairs and undertake some decorations costing $1,300. The rest of the loan is to buy the ingredients he uses in bulk. He also plans to employ someone to help him with the business. He hopes that this investment will enable him to work more efficiently and also attract new customers. He intends to repay it in 47 installments.
