Ahmad Salman is 40 years old. He lives in the small town of Tulkarem in the West Bank. He is married and has three children all of them are in school.
Ahmad is a qualified optician and has run his own business for the last ten years. He offers eye tests and prescriptions and sells spectacles and contact lenses. After customers select their glasses, the correct lenses can be installed at the shop itself before being dispensed. Ahmad requested a loan to buy a new phoropter eye testing machine and also new spectacle frames and sunglasses, as well as contact lenses. The loan is repayable over 40 months. Ahmed employs two full-time staff to assist him.
