Inés María Uchuari has a stall selling vegetables in the market. She is 47 and married with one son who is in college. Doña Inés lives in the sector of 'El Valle' in the city of Loja. She studied until she completed secondary school. Thereafter she worked as a domestic maid in the homes of various wealthy families until she married at the age of 22. Unfortunately, her married life was not easy as her husband had alcohol problems and this resulted in many financial and personal difficulties for the household. Doña Ines requested a small loan in order to use as working capital. Occasionally she has problems with cash flow and needs cash in order to buy in bulk from wholesale suppliers.
