Loan description:
Chetra Kim is 36 and married to Mrs. Phary, who is shown in the photograph. They have three daughters who all study at the local government school. Chetra and his family live in a village in the Sangke district of Battambang province. They harvest three hectares of rice paddy and produce around three tonnes per hectare. At the moment they are only able to grow rice on their land once a year during the rainy season but over the next year they will be able to produce rice twice a year, during the wet and the dry season, after the government finishes the irrigation system in their village. To improve their living condition while their working capital is limited they have applied for a twelve month loan in order to purchase the land and wood to build a new home.
