Beatrice is a 35 year old woman. She has 2 children, 10 and 5 years old, both registered in school. She makes and sells clay household items such as: hearths, pots, bowls and flower plants. This is a common activity in the region and there is demand for Beatrice’s products. In fact she is in touch with customers from Nigeria who want to buy significant amounts of clay items. Beatrice has been a customer of the microfinance institution ACFB for 4 years and would like to have a loan of 1,100 000F to buy 100 bowls of clay and 4 sets of moulds with the different shapes and sizes of the objects she will make. In this way, she will be able to meet the new demand from her Nigerian customers and develop her business by exporting to the vast market of Nigeria. The loan is to be paid in 12 months. She expects to make 1,800,000F, with this money she will pay the loan easily and net profits to help her husband with the household expenses. She also plans to have a shop where she can display the items made by her.

Cliente fidèle de ACFB depuis 4 ans, madame Béatrice demande à présent un crédit de 1100 000F pour acheter 100 bassines d’argile et quatre bâchées de moules pour les différentes formes d’objets à fabriquer. En effet, elle vient d’entrer en contact avec des clients du Nigéria qui demandent des quantités importantes de poteries pour le vaste marché du Nigéria. Le crédit sera remboursé en 12 mois.
