Fozia Bibi is a 34-year-old hard working woman, striving from last 6 years to earn a better living and support her family financially. There are 9 members in her family. She is mother of four sons and three daughters, three of her children are getting education, one is infant while others have got basic education. Her husband is a labourer and earns £71 per month. It’s hard for him to fulfil all the basic requirements of a big family with his limited income.
Fozia does fancy embroidery (silma sitara) on ladies unstitched clothes by hand to earn support her husband. She earns £65 per month. Most of her customers are from Lahore. Now she wants to expand her business further for this purpose, she has applied for a loan to buy more variety of fancy embroidery material. This will bring variety in embroidery work which will eventually increase her income to fulfil the basic needs of her family. This is her third loan she is borrowing from Microfinance partner Akhuwat.
