Mr. Pheak Krahn is 27 years old, he has been as farmer for over four years. He grows his wet season rice paddy on a farmland that is five hectares. He collects three tons of crops per hectare to sell on the market. It takes a period of six months for the rice paddy crops to get ready for harvesting. As the rice paddy are harvested the crops are sold directly to a local merchant. Mr. Pheak is requesting a loan to buy 5000 square meters of farmland to expand his wet season rice paddy farming. With the extra plot of land, he expects to get around one more ton of rice paddy to sell on the market. He will pay back the loan in 24 months’ time.
