Mrs. Poch Thoun and her husband have been working as farmers for over 20 years. They grow long-term rice on 10 hectares of land. This enables them to collect a yield of three tons per hectare to sell on the market. They generally sell their rice crops directly to their local middleman who buys the crops from their farm. To get more long-term rice crops to sell on the market Poch applied for this loan so she can buy a plot of farm land of around 5,000 square metres. Having this extra land will allow her to harvest an extra two tons of crops. She will pay back the loan in 24 months time.
