Loan description:
Mr. Lin is 47 years old and he grows cassava root on three hectares of land. He can collect around 10 tons per hectare to sell to his local middleman, who buys from his farm. He also hires 15 villagers to assist him on chopping the cassava root and each of them earns $5 a day from this working activity. To farm his cassava as every year he decided to take out this 24 month loan in order to purchase some fertilizer, pesticide and weed killer, pay for the ploughing costs of the land and cover the labour costs. He will also use part of the loan to buy a motorbike for commuting.
