Loan description:
Mr. Sokun is 30 years old and has two children, aged 1 and 3 years old. He and his wife grow wet season rice on five hectares of land. By growing this kind of rice they can harvest around three tons of crops per hectare to meet the market demand and they will sell their crops to their local middleman who buys from their farm. When their rice has been harvested they will also grow green beans on the same land and get around 800 kilograms of crops per hectare to sell. In order to farm their rice and green bean as in previous years they applied for this 12 month loan in order to purchase fertilizer, pesticide, weed killer, diesel for their tractor to plough the land and cover their harvesting costs.
