Loan description:
Adele NKUNDWANABAKE needs a loan to buy trainers and shoes to resell. She runs a shoe stall in the market selling mostly plastic sandals. She used to sell children’s shoes too but she is currently running low on stock. A pair of sandals costs around 4,000RWF (about £4), but prices are negotiable with her customers. All the shoes she sells are very popular. She has had this business for 6 years. She will use this loan to buy more shoes. She travels to Uganda and DRC to buy the shoes. She makes about 200,000 – 250,000 RWF a month (between £190 and £240), and can earn about 1,500 RWF (about £1.44) profit for each pair of shoes. She lives with her husband who is a farmer and they have 8 children: 4 boys and 4 girls, who all go to school. With the help of this loan she hopes to be able to provide and care for her children and enable them to continue in school.
