Ayesha Shahzadi, age 27, is a hard working person. She is a resident of Kasur and striving hard to earn a better living and support her family financially. She does fancy embroidery (salma sitara) on ladies clothes by hand to earn a living for her family. She has been into this business from 6 years and earns 8,000 rupees. Most of her customers are from fancy cloth markets of Lahore. There are 5 members in her family which include her parents, brother and a sister. Her parents and sister are totally dependent on her financially. Her 24 years old brother owns a small ration shop and earns 14,000 rupees per month. Their incomes are not enough to meet the high cost of living.
She has applied for a loan from Akhuwat. She wants to buy more variety of fancy embroidery material and cloth from Faisalabad on cheaper rates. As the wedding season is ahead she wants to be fully prepared for it so that she can deliver orders in time and gain more profit by making more customers. This loan will help her expand the business and bring variety in embroidery work which will eventually increase her income to fulfill the basic needs of her family. Wedding season is the best time for her to make more customers and gain extra profit from selling a large number of fancy embroidered suits. She will be repaying this loan in 17 installments.
