Loan description:
Norma Aurelia is 48 and married with six children, four of them are in college and two are in school. She lives in the parish of Chile which is in the municipality of Calvas in Loja, southern Ecuador. Doña Norma and her husband are small-scale farmers. Her husband raises pigs and chickens which are then sold in the local towns of Gonzanamá and Cariamanga. About three years ago Doña Norma also started selling fruits and vegetables at the weekly farmers markets in Cariamanga - usually held on Sundays. Some of the produce she sells she grows herself while some she buys from other farmers. She requested a loan in order to help buying new stock over the next few months. The loan is for eight months.
